What to Expect

An intimate, hands-on day built around intentional creation. You’ll step onto a fully produced set with a signed agency model, dedicated hair and makeup, and curated heritage wardrobe. With zero crowding and dedicated solo shooting blocks, you’ll receive real-time 1:1 guidance on lighting, metering film, and lead directing—leaving with a high-end portfolio piece and a private post-workshop review call.

Designed for photographers who want to step away from rapid-fire shooting and learn the deliberate art of film. We’ll cover light metering, film stock selection, and spatial awareness so you can shoot with total confidence on analog—or bring that precise, intentional film mindset to your digital workflow.

Arrive & Meet

We start the afternoon slowly. As everyone arrives, we’ll take time to settle in, connect over coffee, and walk the grounds together. Before diving into shooting, we’ll talk through the creative direction, light plan, and film stock selection so you step onto set feeling grounded and fully prepared.

FAQ's

  • Yes. You receive full portfolio and commercial self-promotional rights for your website, social media, and print materials.

  • We shoot rain or shine. Covered outdoor spaces and rich ambient light allow us to keep creating regardless of weather.

  • You don't need to be a seasoned pro, but this is not an introductory course for absolute beginners. You should already understand the mechanical basics of your film camera—how to load film, set exposure, and operate your manual settings. On set, we’ll take you to the next level: light metering, film stock selection, and translating those technical basics into high-end editorial storytelling.

  • Digital cameras are completely welcome. While we place a strong emphasis on intentional analog workflows and metering, all of the lighting techniques, live-directing strategies, and curated production value apply equally to digital shooters. You are free to shoot both throughout the day.

  • The workshop takes place at a private heritage farm in Clarksburg, Ontario. Final location details, parking instructions, and exact arrival schedules will be sent to your inbox upon registration so you can plan your travel seamlessly.
